INGREDIENTS

Bisi Bele Bath Masala:

  • 3 tsp coriander seeds
  • 3 tsp chana dal
  • 2 tsp urad dal
  • 1 tsp jeera / cumin
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 3 pods cardamom / elachi
  • 2 inch cinnamon / dalchini
  • 5 cloves / lavang
  • 2 tbsp dry coconut / copra
  • 2 tsp poppy seeds / khus khus
  • 2 tsp sesame seeds / til
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 12 dried kashmiri red chilli
  • few curry leaves
  • pinch of hing / asafoetida

Other Ingredients:

  • 1 cup yellow pumpkin, chopped
  • ½ cup carrot, chopped
  • 10 beans, chopped
  • 2 tbsp matar / peas
  • ½ cup potato / aloo, cubed
  • 2 tbsp peanuts
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tsp turmeric / haldi
  • 1tsp salt
  • 1 cup tamarind extract
  • ½ tsp jaggery / gud
  • ½ onions, petals
  • 1 cup toor dal, cooked
  • 2½ cup rice, cooked
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp ghee / clarified butter

For Tampering:

  • 2 tbsp ghee / clarified butter
  • 1 tsp mustard / rai
  • 1 dried red chilli
  • pinch of hing / asafoetida
  • few curry leaves
  • 10 cashew / kaju

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1 Roast all dry ingredients mentioned above to prepare bisibelebath masala.

Step 2 Blend roasted masala ingredients and make a powder

Step 3 Cook all vegetables with 2 cups of water, 1 tsp turmeric and 1 tsp salt.

Step 4 Cook for 10 min

Step 5 Add Boiled rice, boiled toor dal, tamarind extract, bisibelebath masala and some corinder leaves and simmer 10 min

Step 6 Mix well and simmer 5 more min.

Step 7 Tampering
