Why we have used Dates instead of Sugar and Jaggery is mainly in Dates it contains a good source of iron and calcium, and it helps to maintain blood and bone health. It is having high in Fiber and Disease-Fighting Antioxidants. It is a natural sweetener and so we can use these dates in any sweets on replacement of Sugar and Jaggery.

- Almonds – 1/4th cup
- Cashew (kaju) – 1/4th cup
- Pistachios – 1/4th cup
- walnuts – 1/4th cup
- khus khus (gasagasalu) – 1 tbsp
- Dates (khajur) – 1 cup
- Cardamom powder – 1tbsp
- Ghee (clarified butteer) – 2 tbsp
Step 1 Take 1 cup of dates (khajur) seedless in a blender.
Step 2 Blend dates like coarsely and keep aside.
Step 3 In a pan take tbsp of ghee, chopped cashew, almonds, pista, walnuts and poppy seeds.
Step 4 Roast all dryfruits 2 minutes on lowflame. do not over roast.
Step 5 Add blended dates.
Step 6 Mash the dates to combine and mix together with dryfruits.
Step 7 Dryfruits and dates mixed well and separates the pan. It become to holds a shape.
Step 8 Transfer to a bowl and let it cool completely.
Step 9 Take modak mold and grease ghee / clarified butter.
Step 10 Sprinkle some crushed pista and poppy seeds in the mold.
Step 11 Insert the stuffing in the mold to sides and close. Remove excess stuff.
Step 12 Open the mold gently and carefully. Now Dryfuit modaks are ready to offer ganesha.
Step 13Offer these Dryfruit modaks to lord ganesa for ganesh chaturthi. Very healthy and tasty modaks.
