INGREDIENTS

Main Ingredients:

  • Butter – 2tbsp
  • Fresh cream – 1/4th cup (Optional)
  • Milk – 1/2 cup
  • Milk powder – 1 cup
  • Cardamom powder – 1 tbsp
  • Sugar – 1 tbsp

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1 Take 2 tbsp of butter and 1/4th cup of fresh cream in a kadai. Fresh cream is optional you can skip this if you dont have it with you.

Step 2 Stir until fresh cream and butter melts.

Step 3 Add 1/2 cup of milk (cream milk will be best for this) and mix well.

Step 4 While milk is getting boil add 1 cup of milk powder.

Step 5 After adding milk powder stir well to avoid lumps. Keep stirring upto 5 min on low flame.

Step 6 After 5 min milk powder thickens.

Step 7 Add cardamom powder and Sugar at this point and stir.

Step 8 Now dough will become to holds a shape and separates from pan.

Step 9 Transfer the dough to a bowl and let it cool completely.

Step 10 After complete cool down take small portion of this dough and fill in the mold.

Step 11 Remove excess dough.

Step 12 Open gently. Mawa/kova modak is ready by using molding.

Step 13 We can do this modak without using mold. First take small lemon sized dough and make a cone shape and press lines with tooth picker or any tool.

Step 14 Now sharp or pinch at top. The handmad mawa / kova / Khoya modaks are ready.
