Steamed | Ukadiche Modak Recipe Card

- Kaju, cashew – 2 tsp
- almonds – 1 tbsp
- khus khus, gasagasalu – 1 tbsp
- ghee – 1 tbsp
- jaggery – 1/2 cup
- grated coconut – 1 cup
- cardamom powder – 1 tbsp
Outer Shell Ingredients:
- Rice flour – 1 cup
- water – 1 cup
- salt – 1/2 tbsp
- butter – 1/2 tbsp
Step 1 Add 1 tbsp Ghee, 2 Tbsp Chopped Cashew nuts, 1 Tbsp Chopped Almonds, And 1 Tbsp Khus Khus(Poppy Seads). Roast for 2 Mins.
Step 2 Dry fruits roasted well, Keep it a side.
Step 3 Take pan and add Jaggery, Fresh Coconut Grated.
Step 4 Stir well for 2 Mins.
Step 5 Stir till Jaggery melts and combines with Coconut.
Step 6 Add roasted dry fruits.
Step 7 Now, add cardamom powder to it.
Step 8 Mix and combine well for 1 Min.
Step 9 Now Stuffing is Ready to make Modak. Keep it a side.
Step 10 For preparing the Outer shell, add 1 cup of water.
Step 11 Add butter and salt to the boiling water.
Step 12 When water boils and butter melts, add 1 Cup of rice flour to it.
Step 13 Mix well with out lumps.
Step 14 Cover the lid and cook for 5 Mins.
Step 15 After 5 Mins. of cooking transfer the dough to a bowl. And let it cool completly
Step 16 Kneed the dough for 2 Mins. Sprinkle water if needed.
Step 17 Take ball sized dough and flatten slightly. Press from sides to form a cup shape.
Step 18 Create pleates on all sides like shown below.
Step 19 Now add 1 spoon full of prepared coconut and dry fruit stuffing to it.
Step 20 Press from bottom to top, close the top open and pinch at the top.
Step 21 Now Modak is ready for steaming
Step 22 Steam for 10 Mins. on Medium flame.
Step 23 Now Ukadiche Modaks are ready for Ganesha.
Step 24 OFFER IT TO LORD GANESH AND HAPPY GANESH CHATURTHI.
