Pappu vundrallu is also called as vundralla payasam. It is also a naivedyam recipe to lord ganesha for ganesh chaturthi or vinayaka chavithi. This is most famous recipe in Andhra pradesh. Rice balls boil with sugar syrup and finally we will add cooked toor dal to this recipe.
These pappu vundrallu recipe is a unique traditional andhra style recipe. Serve this dish by adding more ghee to improve the taste of dish. Taste will be awsome im sure for this.
These pappulo vundrallu will also make using moong dal instead of toordal. That is also tastes good.

For vundrallu dough:
- Water – 1 and half cup
- Salt – 1/4th tbsp
- butter – 1/2 tbsp
- Rice flour – 1 cup
- Water – 1/4th cup
- Jaggery – 1/2 cup
- Sugar – 3 tbsp
- Coconut slices – 1/2 cup
- Toor dal – 1 cup, boiled
- Cardamom powder – 1 tbsp
Step 1 In a pan add 1 and half cup of water, pinch of salt, 1/2 tbsp of butter and let it boil for a minute.
Step 2 When the water is boiling add 1 cup of rice flour and mix well
Step 3 Stir continuously until thickens the dough.
Step 4 Cover and cook this for 5 minutes on simmer.
Step 5 Transfer the dough into a bowl and let it cool completely.
Step 6After cooled down knead the dough upto soft and smooth.
Step 7 Make small grape sized balls as shown in the figure.
Step 8In a pan add 1/4th cup of water, 1/2 cup of jaggerty and 3 tbsp of sugar and mix well
Step 9 Once the jaggery melts completely add sliced coconut and prepared balls / vundrallu and mix well
Step 10 Cook these for 5 minutes on medium flame.
Step 11 After 5 minutes add 1 cup of cooked toor dal and 1 tbsp of cardamom powder and mix and combine well and leave for 2 min on simmer.
Step 12 After 2 minutes vundralla payasam / pappu vundrallu is ready to serve.
