This sweet made using rice flour, coconut and jaggery. Here we provide Complete instructions to make tasty Chalimidi along with photos of each step by step, cooked by a temptng bowls.
There are two types of chalimidi recipes: 1. Pachi chalimidi 2. Pakam Chalimidi. To day I’m showing pakam chalimidi preperation. Pakam chalimidi will improves the taste of this recipe when compare with pachi chalimidi. Pachi chalimidi also tastes good. But this pakam chalimidi is the best one comparing with pachi chalimidi.

Chalimidi Recipe Card

- Rice – 2 cups
- Chopped Coconut – 1/2 cup
- Cashew – 4 tbsp
- Jaggery – 1/4th cup
- Sugar – 1/4th cup
- Water – 1/4th cup
- Poppy Seeds – 2 tbsp
- Cardamom Powder – 1 tbsp
- Ghee – 1/4th cup
Step 1 Take 2 cups of rice and wash twice by adding water
Step 2 Soak rice for atleast 5 hours
Step 3 Drain the water completely
Step 4 Pour on a clean towel and pat dry for 5 min. If there is extra moisture just rub it by towel
Step 5 Now blend the rice and make a smooth powder
Step 6 Sieve the powder 2 times for make it very smooth.
Step 7 Press the flour tight so that rice flour will not become dry.
Step 8 Take a pan and add 4 tbsp of Ghee and 1/2 cup of coconut pieces and rost for 2 min on medium flame upto 60% roast
Step 9 Once the coconut roasted upto 60% add 4 tbsp of cashew and roast upto golden brown together and keep it aside
Step 10 In a kadai add 1/4th cup of jaggery, 1/4th cup of sugar and 1/4th cup of water and stir well
Step 11 Once the sugar syrup boils just check the consistancy.. It should form a shape, Do not make it very hard ball. Check the video for this perfect consistancy
Step 12 Now add the prepared rice flour gradually by stirring continuously without lumps.
Step 13 Do not overcook the chalimidi. Just turnoff the flame once it is forms a shape
Step 14 Now add roasted coconut and cashew, cardamom powder, poppy seeds and ghee
Step 15 mix all ingredients together
Step 16 Take into a bowl
Step 17 Too much tasty chalimidi is ready. Andhra famous recipe chalimidi 🙂
