INGREDIENTS

Main Ingredients:

  • Maida (plain flour) – 2 cups
  • Salt – 1/4th tbsp
  • Hot ghee or oil – 4 tbsp
  • Poppy seeds – 1/2 cup
  • Dry coconut powder – 1/2 cup
  • Cashew – 1/2 cup, crushed
  • Almonds – 1/2 cup, crushed
  • Sugar – 1 cup
  • Cardamom powder – 1 tbsp
  • Oil – to deep fry
 

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1 Take 2 cups of maida, 1/4th tbsp of salt and 4 tbsp of hot ghee.

Step 2 Crumble and mix with hands until holds shape.

Step 3 Make a soft dough by adding water and knead it for 5 minutes.

Step 4 Rest dough for 20 minutes.

Step 5 For stuffing add 1/2 cup of poppy seeds, 1/2 cup of dry coconut powder, 1/2 cup of cashew (crushed), half cup of almonds (crushed), 1 cup of sugar and 1 tbsp of cardamom powder.

Step 6 Mix all ingredients together and keep aside.

Step 7 Take a lemon sized dough.

Method 1:

Step 8 Make thin layer.

Step 9 Put this layer in a kajjikayalu mold which is greased edges and add 3 tbsp of stuffing in it.

Step 10 Close the mold carefully and remove excess dough.

Step 11 Open mold carefully and cut the edges for curcle shape.

Method 2:

Step 13 Make a thin layer and pour 3 tbsp of stuffing and apply water on edges.

Step 14 Fold this half and press and seal.

Step 15 Take this into your hand and press and fold as shows in the video or in below image and make a design.

Method 3:

Step 17 Make thin layer and add stuffing.

Step 18 Half fold it and press and seal.
