INGREDIENTS

Main Ingredients:

  • Rice – 2 cups
  • Jaggery – 1/2 cup
  • Sugar – 1/2 cup
  • Water – 1/4 cup
  • Ghee – 1/4 cup
  • Sesame Seeds – 1/2 cup
  • Oil – for deep fry
 

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1 Take two cups of rice.

Step 2 Add water and rinse two times.

Step 3 Soak rice for four hours.

Step 4 After four hours, drain the water and pour the rice on a clean and nice towel.

Step 5 Pat dry the rice for five minutes.

Step 6 Pour the rice into a blender and make a fine powder.

Step 7 Sieve the rice flour, it should be very smooth.

Step 8 Press the rice flour tightly and cover it with wet cloth. Because the rice flour wont get dry.

Step 9 In a kadai add half cup of jaggery, half cup of sugar, and 1/4th cup of water, stir well until the jaggery melts.

Step 10 Once the sugar syrup thickens check the consistency by pouring the syrup into water and it should form a ball shape as shown in the figure.

Step 11 Now add the rice flour gradually and mix continuously to avoid lumps.

Step 12 Add 1/4th cup of ghee and mix it well.

Step 13 Batter should not be too tight or too loose.

Step 14 Transfer this into a bowl and let it cool down completely.

Step 15 Take 1/2 cup of Sesame Seeds.

Step 16 Take lemon sized dough, and make it a ball shape.

Step 17 Dit this ball into the sesame seeds and keep it aside.

Step 18 Make this flattened on top of greased cover.

Step 19 Deep fry these in high heated oil, and change the flame into medium immediately. Fry until golden color.

Step 20 Press gently to remove excess oil and let it cool.
